Superseton is a smooth, simple and secure solution that prevents unnecessary irritation and discomfort for your patients. Knotless and smooth, Superseton features an innovative closure that is secure and flexible, and can be applied manually in seconds with the patented disposable applicator. While the clever design offers numerous benefits, it still fits seamlessly with established practice.
Double-wedged closure
The design of the SuperSeton features a double-wedged closure, that provides both an easy insertion as well as a secure closing of the seton until it’s being removed. The soft material of the insert still offers maximum flexibility, preventing discomfort and irritation.
Disposable applicator
Every SuperSeton comes with the patented disposable applicator, that helps you to manually close the seton, quickly and securely. Using the applicator requires no formal training. Just take a few practice rounds prior to first use in-patient, and you’re ready to go.
Ease of use
Here’s how easy it is to use the SuperSeton:
- Insert the SuperSeton just like you would a regular seton. Insert the end without the blue insert.
- Place the other end of the SuperSeton into the applicator, making sure the arrow symbol is pointing towards the patient.
- Trim the seton to size, next to the applicator.
- Use broad tweezers to slide the blue insert into the open end of the SuperSeton, in the direction of the arrow.
- When closed, check that the insert is now completely covered by the tubing.

SuperSeton put to the test
The SuperSeton comes with an innovative closure that is flexible, yet secure and safe. The two hooks (or wedges) ensure a strong connection, which we have put to the test in this video.
In this tensile test, the machine stretches the SuperSeton until it eventually opens up. You will see that only when reaching 7,79 Newton, it finally de-connects. This corresponds with a weight of approximately 0,8 kilograms or 1,76 pounds. Sufficient proof for surgeons and patients that SuperSeton offers not only a smooth, simple and secure knotless seton drainage solution, but also a very strong one.
